One of the feature pacing events held at Tabcorp Park, Melton last Friday night was the $40 000 Group 3 VHRSC Victoria Sires Classic (2240m) where Enthral claimed a narrow victory.
Enthral ($8.90), a three-year-old gelding, secured victory by a mere neck over the immensely popular Two Eye See ($3.70) with Modern Warrior over 5m back in third place.
The son of Modern Art, Enthral ran a solid mile rate of 1:59.5 clocking a gross time of 2:46.4 over the 2240m staying race.
It was a disappointing finish for the $2.40 favourite Palais Du Louvre who only placed seventh after leading early on. Palais Du Lourve performance was queried with the runner receiving a vet’s examination after the race and was stood down.
