M H Treuer Memorial Preview

It is a weekend jam-packed full of fantastic pacing features right across the country. Aside from the coveted Group 1 Stallion Station Fremantle Pacing Cup, the other major event will be the Group 1 $100 000 M H Treuer Memorial (2540m) at Bankstown NSW on Saturday.

The Barry Lew-trained pacing star Karloo Mick, coming off a gallant third place in last week’s Miracle Mile, will start from barrier four as the odds-on favourite driven by Greg Bennett. The nine-year-old is aiming for his first Group 1 victory and is the only Miracle Mile contender to follow up with a run in the M H Treuer Memorial this weekend.

Other fancied runners include the ever consistent Saucy Legend (barrier 3) displaying sensational recent form winning 4 of their past 5 starts and running a strong second to the winner of last week’s Bohemia Crystal Free-For-All, Western Cam. The Queensland trained Western Cam is proving to have plenty of talent and is also due to contest The M H Treuer Memorial on Saturday, having the advantage of the inside draw with barrier one.

The Group 1 M H Treuer Memorial will run as race six on Bankstown’s quality eight race line-up on Saturday evening and is due to start at 9:15pm (NSW).
